Mission + Mandate

The Society works to raise awareness and promote the heritages of the Celtic countries: Scotland, Ireland, The Isle of Man, Wales, Cornwall, and Brittany. We also support & promote the Gaelic Nova Scotia traditions that have developed over the centuries of Celtic peoples coming to this land.

The primary objective of the Halifax Celtic Festival, and other events held throughout the year, is to create an awareness of Nova Scotia’s and Canada’s Celtic-based heritages.

We acknowledge that we are in Mi'kma'ki , the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People.
